My partner uses masking tape to write food and dates on leftovers. Masking tape is sticky and gets worse over time. It even stays on after a round in the dishwasher. So I was looking for something that might be easier to use and easier to get off. I saw these and decided to order it. This is a big roll of stickers. They feel thick and that they will not tear easily. I tested writing with a ball point pen (recommended by the manufacturer) and a gel pen. I figured the gel pen would be a bad idea (I thought, when I ordered this, the product description said something about that), but I wanted to see what happens. Since the labels are oil resistant, I think the writing instrument you use is important. I was able to write using both pens, BUT when I applied the label (after a delay), the gel pen smeared. Which is what I kind of expected. It is important that the labels are oil resistant to make sure they apply well to surfaces and handle messy situations. The labels are a little difficult to get off the roll. Maybe having a darker backing roll would make it easier to see the edge of the sticker for pulling off. The labels are easy to apply. They seemed to stick to cold sweating glass jars and plastic without any problems. Getting the labels off seemed easy without leaving residue. I don’t know about going through the dishwasher (but I’m sure we will eventually forget to pull one off and see what happens). Since they are waterproof, I don’t think they will shred in the dishwasher, but therefore might get trapped in the filter or pump.In short, I really like these labels. They are big (but not too big) and are well designed, high quality feel. I recommend trying a roll.
